Some Much Needed Vitamin Sea

Posted under:

The south of England boasts miles of glorious sandy beaches, ranging from the family seaside experience in Brighton, Poole and Torquay - where you will still find traditional donkey rides and Punch & Judy - to quiet coves and open coastline where you can truly unwind.

Not only is the scenery beautiful, but spending time at the sea has various benefits for your health. The waves are great for relaxing our mind and body, and the air is proven to boost the immune system. According to a study by the University of California, the sea air contains neutralising elements that kill bacteria in our bodies, improving respiratory health and our immune system.

At Renaissance Retirement we love the south coast and many of our developments are based at the seaside. We understand how important it is to spend time relaxing outside when you get older and there’s nothing better than the thought of retiring by the beach.

Torquay

With our development in Paignton being sold out, we wanted to bring our same great offering to the hugely sought-after Devon coast. This month we are excited to open the doors of our stunning homes in Babbacombe, Torquay. With stunning views over the cliffs and a 10 minute walk to the beach, this is the perfect location to live beside such an incredible piece of coastline.

Babbacombe beach is a Blue Flag Award winner, boasting beautiful clear water and golden sand in an unspoiled, secluded arc - its coastline is nicknamed the English Riviera. Walk down the slope from Babbacombe Downs to the tranquil haven, and on the way back up take the Babbacombe Cliff Railway. These views are not to be missed.

If you’ve never been to Torquay before, be sure to take the English Riviera Sightseeing Tour for the full coastal experience. Finish off the day at one of the many harbourside restaurants in the thriving hub of Torquay, with incredible views and fresh, local seafood.

Christchurch

Our development in central Christchurch sold out in a flash, and we can see why. Unspoiled beaches at Hengistbury Head are a short walk from they town and the cliffs form a stunning backdrop for a picnic on the golden sands. Take a passenger ferry across Christchurch Harbour to Mudeford, lined with colourful beach huts.

Poole

Not far down the road, Poole and Bournemouth beaches are a local favourite. At the end of August catch the Bournemouth Air Festival, 4 award-winning days of action and entertainment in the air, on land and at sea.

Any other day goes back to your childhood, grab an ice-cream on the pier and play arcades at the amusements. With our Poole development under construction, we’re excited for our residents to get fully immersed into the local scene.

Rustington

If you prefer a quieter trip to the coast, Rustington is a more peaceful retreat. With its long stretch of untouched beach, walk the dogs along the strand with great views of the sunset. We have nearly completed our impressive development in this charming Sussex location, featuring select private patio spaces and rooftop gardens. With our grand opening to be announced soon, we’re sure these serene homes will be fast to go!

So, when the summer sun is shining, plan a picnic on the sand, splash in the sea and doze in a deckchair - you and your family are guaranteed a great day out at the beach.

Of course, whilst you are visiting the coast for your much-needed “vitamin sea”, why not make an appointment to view our impressive developments in Rustington or Babbacombe - and come and experience them for yourself.

Call 01803 424 039 to speak to our lovely team at Babbacombe and arrange your personal tour.
